Breaking News: APC Unveils Schedule For By-Elections, Sets Senate Nomination Fee At N20 Million

Nominations, expressions of interest, and delegate forms for Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly seats will be available for purchase from December 27, 2023, to January 2, 2024. Primary elections are scheduled to take place on January 6, 2024.

The APC has set the price for Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at N20 million, N10 million, and N2 million for Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly aspirants, respectively. Notably, female aspirants and individuals with disabilities are required to pay only for Expression of Interest, with the Nomination Form being provided at no cost.

In a bid to encourage youth participation, the party has introduced a 50% discount on Nomination Forms for individuals aged 25 to 40 purchasing Expression of Interest forms.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has previously designated February 3, 2024, as the date for these by-elections, stemming from the resignation or demise of members of the National and State Houses of Assembly. The vacancies span two senatorial districts, four federal constituencies, and three state constituencies, covering nine states in the Federation.
