Kaffy Challenges Suitors: ‘The Man Meant For Me Will Tep Up Boldly
Renowned Nigerian dancer and author, Kafayat Shafau, popularly known as Kaffy, has encouraged men interested in dating her to feel confident and not be intimidated when approaching her.
Kafayat Shafau, popularly known as Kaffy, expressed confidence that the right man for her would not be intimidated by her success.
The celebrated dancer and author, who separated from her ex-husband, Joseph Ameh, in January 2022, shared her thoughts during an interview with The Punch.
She said, “I don’t believe any man meant for me would be afraid to approach me. I’m confident that there are amazing and confident men out there, and the one for me will come. I don’t subscribe to the idea that men are generally intimidated by successful women. A man who knows what he wants will pursue it.
“As women, God has blessed us with the ability to thrive and be successful, with or without men. While companionship is desirable and good, it’s not something that should feel like a life-or-death situation. I now have a deeper understanding of my worth as a woman. Any man who ends up with me will be truly fortunate.”
Addressing her separation, Kaffy emphasized that she holds no bitterness toward her ex-husband. She explained, “It was simply a case of two people no longer being in agreement. I’ve moved past it. While I acknowledge what was done wrong to me, I choose not to view the situation as him being bad and me being good. If something isn’t working, it’s better to let it go, especially when children are involved. If my mind isn’t at peace, how can I raise my children well?”
She further highlighted the importance of parental involvement in children’s lives, irrespective of marital status. “What truly matters is the role parents play in their children’s lives, not just whether they stay married. Unfortunately, society often focuses more on maintaining the union than on fostering meaningful relationships within it.”
