Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting at the Africa House, Government House, Kano, Yusuf described this situation as both frustrating and unfortunate. He emphasized his role and authority in overseeing security matters in the state and criticized the police’s lack of cooperation.

Additionally, Yusuf revealed concerns about potential disruptions to the forthcoming nationwide protests. He alleged that some opposition politicians might attempt to exploit the protests to create chaos in Kano, disguising themselves as supporters of the Kwankwasiyya movement to engage in vandalism and theft.

The Governor appealed to protesting youths to act peacefully and responsibly. He assured them of his commitment to receiving their grievances at the Government House and forwarding them to the Federal Government.

In support, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sunusi II advised youths to remain cautious of potential violence during the protests. He endorsed the Governor’s approach to receiving the protesters and ensuring their demands are properly communicated.
