The prosecution emphasized that Rukayya’s actions were in violation of section 221 of the Penal Code. Throughout the trial, four witnesses presented by the prosecution counsel testified against the accused.

Despite pleas for leniency from the defense counsel, Barrister Rilwan Muhammad, who cited the convict’s role as a mother responsible for multiple children, the court remained firm in its decision. Consequently, Rukayya Abubakar has been sentenced to spend the remainder of her life behind bars.
