Additionally, all fishing activities in specific local government areas have been suspended following security concerns. The directive was issued on Monday by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, who stated that the move aims to address emerging security threats and maintain public safety.

The state government further declared that any individual entering Kogi State with a security convoy must obtain prior approval from the Kogi State commands of the relevant security agencies. This measure follows intelligence reports suggesting that some individuals plan to enter the state disguised as security personnel to incite violence.

Governor Ododo also held discussions with the Kogi State Traditional Council, led by the Attah of Igala, to establish peace and security measures in the state. The traditional rulers commended the governor’s proactive approach to safeguarding lives and property.

The statement emphasized that while citizens have the right to assemble, security concerns take precedence. Therefore, no individual, group, or organization is permitted to hold rallies that could disrupt public peace until further notice. The government also stressed the importance of proper clearance for security convoys to prevent unauthorized armed movements in the state.
