Nigerian activist and lawyer, Omoyele Sowore, has accused Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, of running the state through propaganda rather than delivering tangible achievements.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Sowore expressed his disappointment, stating that Aiyedatiwa has failed to make any significant progress since taking over from the late Rotimi Akeredolu. He revealed that he was among those who opposed Akeredolu when his family allegedly attempted to take control of power, believing that Aiyedatiwa would be a better leader.

During a television interview, Sowore, who was the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), pointed out that his younger brother, Allen Sowore, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Strategic Media, is also involved in the alleged propaganda.

Expressing his frustration with the state’s situation, Sowore stated that Ondo State deserves better governance, adding that the region is currently stagnant despite being in motion. He criticized the lack of patrol vehicles at over 55 police stations in the state and highlighted the ease with which criminals operate in areas with poor road access.

Sowore also lamented the state government’s focus on bursaries instead of providing free education, noting that as an education-driven state, Ondo should prioritize offering free education rather than presenting bursaries as a favor. He shared a personal anecdote about how he continues to pay teachers at his former community high school in Kiribo due to the neglect of the education sector.

Furthermore, Sowore criticized the lack of infrastructure and the persistent insecurity in the state, emphasizing that propaganda cannot solve the pressing issues Ondo State faces. He urged the governor to confront the realities and address the challenges head-on.
