In a statement shared on his account on Tuesday, Kwankwaso blamed what he called leadership failure for the violence recorded in Jos and other parts of the country.
He stressed that such incidents must not be allowed to persist, insisting that Nigerians deserve to live in peace, security, and dignity, regardless of their ethnic or religious background.
Expressing condolences to the victims, the former governor urged authorities at all levels to stop treating security issues casually and instead declare a full national emergency to address the worsening situation.
He further noted that the attack on the Gari Ya Waye community in Angwan Rukuba, Jos—where several lives were lost and many others injured—represents another tragic moment in the country’s history.
According to him, the recurring violence reflects both a failure of leadership and a growing culture of impunity that has left parts of the country vulnerable to repeated attacks.
Kwankwaso called on the government to take urgent and decisive action, warning that continued inaction would only worsen the crisis.
He also extended his sympathy to the families of the victims, the injured, and the entire community, praying for strength and comfort during their time of grief.
