Labour Party Declares: ‘We’ll Win 2027 Without A Coalition!’ – Bold Confidence Ahead Of Elections

The Labour Party (LP) has expressed confidence in its ability to win the 2027 presidential election without forming a coalition.

Dismissing rumors of an alliance with Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), LP asserted that its performance in the 2023 election proves its capacity to independently challenge and unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking with Punch on Sunday, LP National Publicity Secretary Obiora Ifoh emphasized the party’s grassroots support and its strong appeal to Nigerians.

“As it stands, Labour Party has not been invited to any coalition talks. What we see is speculation about alternatives to secure a landslide victory against the APC,” Ifoh said.

He added, “Labour Party didn’t need a coalition in 2023, and it garnered millions of votes from Nigerians who believed in our vision. If elections were held today, LP would perform even better because the current government has failed. Everything we stood for in 2023 is what Nigeria desperately needs now. A coalition is not necessary for our victory.”

While Ifoh maintained that the party can succeed independently, he did not rule out the possibility of a merger under the right conditions.

“The idea of a coalition is not bad. If approached, LP will examine its merits and demerits,” he said. “So far, no formal invitations or discussions have taken place.”

Ifoh’s statement addresses growing speculation about a potential alliance between LP, PDP, and NNPP ahead of the 2027 elections.
