A Nigerian lady has sparked widespread reactions on social media after sharing her views on the qualities she would consider when choosing a husband.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the woman made the disclosure in a viral video shared online, where she explained that she would prefer to marry a financially struggling man who maintains good personal hygiene rather than a wealthy man who is careless about cleanliness.

She noted that although financial hardship can be overcome through determination and hard work, poor hygiene could become a major source of stress within a marriage.

The woman said she particularly values neatness and would be comfortable building a life with a man who does not have much money, provided he is responsible about keeping himself and his surroundings clean.

She warned women against overlooking cleanliness when choosing a life partner, arguing that living with a consistently untidy spouse could create unnecessary pressure and affect the quality of the relationship.

According to her, a woman who spends several days away from home could return to find dirty dishes, unclean surroundings and household chores left unattended if her husband is unwilling to contribute to maintaining the home.

She questioned the idea of couples focusing solely on making money and raising children while one partner continues to shoulder the additional burden of cleaning after an unwilling spouse.

The lady described persistent dirtiness as a serious issue that could cause emotional and physical stress, adding that she would not hesitate to ask a partner to return to his parents if he repeatedly refused to maintain basic cleanliness.

She maintained that financial circumstances can change with effort and determination, stressing that a person who is currently broke could eventually become successful.
