Niger Governor Bago Makes Fresh Move, Names Six New Commissioners

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the appointment of six commissioners-designate and four political aides as part of efforts to strengthen the administration and improve governance across the state.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the appointments were contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by Abubakar Kuta, Information Officer in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

The six commissioners-designate are Lucky Barau from Gurara Local Government Area, Isah Wakili from Bosso, Dr Isah Adamu from Kontagora, Emmanuel Alamu from Magama, Shuaibu Saidu Kaboji from Mashegu and Mohammed Danladi Garba from Borgu.

Their appointments remain subject to screening and confirmation by the Niger State House of Assembly in accordance with the relevant provisions of the law.

Governor Bago also approved the appointment of Nma Kolo as Chief Political Adviser.

In addition, Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were appointed Special Advisers on Political Matters for Zones A, B and C respectively.

The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, explained that the appointments were aimed at enhancing governance, improving service delivery and promoting broader representation across Niger State.

The latest appointments are expected to further strengthen the government’s administrative and political structure as the Bago administration continues its efforts to improve coordination and service delivery.

The six commissioner nominees are expected to appear before the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation before formally assuming their respective portfolios.
