Cornelius Ojelabi, Chairman of the Lagos State APC, addressed the press at the party’s secretariat on Wednesday evening, expressing that Tinubu’s victory was anticipated.
He emphasized that the former two-term Lagos State Governor was deserving of this victory, given his tireless efforts leading up to the election.
Ojelabi, who gathered a substantial crowd of APC stakeholders and members at the party secretariat to witness the court proceedings and ruling on an outdoor screen, affirmed the party’s contentment with the PEPC verdict.
The chairman stated, “We are pleased and content with the result. We are not surprised by the APC’s victory because we diligently worked towards this outcome.
President Bola Tinubu, in particular, put in tremendous effort to convey his intentions and plans to the people during his campaign visits to all 36 states. His victory is a testament to his integrity.”
Regarding the Labour Party’s rejection of the tribunal’s decision, Ojelabi remarked that such objections were expected, adding, “The judgment has confirmed that Nigerians indeed voted for the APC.”
Ojelabi commended the steadfastness of APC supporters and urged them to remain patient and committed. He conveyed gratitude on behalf of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and party leaders to those who had remained dedicated throughout the day.
The chairman assured party members of forthcoming rewards for their dedication and loyalty, expressing the belief that God had brought Tinubu to contribute to Nigeria’s betterment. He encouraged members to continue supporting the party leadership at various levels within the state.
