Lagos Blue Line Launches 72 Daily Operations

Abimbola Akinajo, Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), announced this change in a statement released on the agency’s X handle on Sunday. Akinajo noted that the schedule for Sunday operations will remain unchanged.

With the new schedule, the travel time between Marina and Mile 2 will be reduced from 25 minutes to approximately 18 minutes. This change means that trains will run every 18 minutes in both directions, helping commuters plan their trips more effectively.

Additionally, a 25 percent discount will be offered for travel during off-peak hours between 10 am and 4 pm. Akinajo indicated that the new timetable aims to cut journey times, increase ridership during off-peak hours, and reduce transportation costs.

The updated timetables are available on the LAMATA website, at stations, and through their social media channels. Since its launch on September 4, 2023, the Blue Line has transported nearly two million passengers.
