Lagos Police Apprehend Suspect In Transformer Cable Theft Case
A 27-year-old man, identified as Abubakar Haruna, has been apprehended by the police in Lagos State for allegedly stealing cables from a transformer located in the Onikan area of the state.
The confirmation of the arrest was made by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson in the state, through a post shared on his official X handle on Saturday.
According to Hundeyin, the police responded to a distress call and swiftly moved to the scene of the crime, where they succeeded in apprehending the suspect.
“Upon receiving a distress call, officers from the Onikan Division swiftly arrested the suspect who had jumped into a compound and proceeded to cut off cables from the transformer within the premises,” stated Hundeyin.
The suspect was found in possession of incriminating tools including a machete, two saws, and pliers at the time of his arrest.
Hundeyin further mentioned that investigations into the case are currently ongoing.
