Emmanuel also highlighted the government’s commitment to passenger safety, stating that the Omi Bus Ferries fleet is fully insured by LASACO Assurance, ensuring robust coverage and adding a layer of security to the service. The ferries are equipped with essential safety features such as life jackets, life buoys, fire extinguishers, pyrotechnics, non-slip deck mats, and a public address system.
Additionally, the ferries are designed with passenger comfort in mind, offering amenities like a stereo system, LED lighting, and USB charging points. The Omi Bus Ferries are also eco-friendly, producing fewer CO2 emissions and earning international recognition from Interferry, a global ferry association, for their safety standards.
Emmanuel encouraged the public to take advantage of the new ferry service, which offers a faster and more reliable mode of transport around Lagos, contributing to a more efficient transportation network.
