The repairs are crucial to prevent total vandalism and theft of the expansion joint, necessitating the replacement of missing parts and reconstituting the transition concrete surrounding the expansion joint.
Starting from 8 am on Saturday, November 4, the bridge segment will be closed to traffic and is set to reopen at 4 am on Monday, November 6, 2023. Motorists are advised to utilize the Costain Ramp to connect Alaka via the Costain Roundabout throughout this period.
The statement ensures the prompt reopening of the bridge and confirms the deployment of adequate traffic and security personnel along the construction zones and alternative routes.
