Lands Owned By Buhari’s Children And Other Prominent Politicians In Abuja Face Revocation By FCT AuthoritiesThe Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has issued a strong ultimatum to notable Nigerians and corporate organizations, warning that it will revoke the Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O) for plots of land in the Maitama District of Abuja if outstanding payments are not settled within two weeks.

In a notice sent to 3,273 plot owners, the FCTA stressed the urgency of clearing these payments to avoid penalties. The notice, titled “Demand Notice for Payment of Right of Occupancy Bills for Issuance of Certificates of Occupancy on All Lands Allocated at Maitama II District, Cadastral Zone A10, Abuja,” was made available by Premium Times on Friday.

The announcement has raised concerns among affected landowners, many of whom are prominent individuals and major corporations. Notable names on the list include the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki. Other key figures listed are former Speaker of the House Yakubu Dogara, former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, and ex-governors such as Rochas Okorocha, Ibikunle Amosun, and Theodore Orji, among others.

Several sitting and former lawmakers are also affected, including Dino Melaye, Stella Oduah, Ben Bruce, and David Umaru. Additionally, high-ranking officials like the Minister of Sports, John Eno, and the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, were named.

The FCTA explained that the notice was issued as part of ongoing infrastructural development in the district. According to the administration, any plot owners who fail to settle their outstanding bills within the two-week period will face the revocation of their Right of Occupancy (R-of-O) and potential reallocation of their lands.

“All allottees who have not paid their bills for the Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) are hereby advised to settle their bills in full within two (2) weeks from the date of this publication,” the notice stated. “Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the offers of Rights of Occupancy by the Honourable Minister of the FCT.
