Tinubu expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Lawson, characterizing her as an enterprising, courageous, astute, and distinguished businesswoman and leader.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the President conveyed his most heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Lawson’s family and friends.
“Iyalode Lawson embodied enterprise, brilliance, and ingenuity. Her passing is a deeply sorrowful loss. May the Almighty God grant her eternal rest,” the President remarked.
Lawson, who passed away at the age of 72, previously served as the president of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
She was not only a shrewd politician but also a notable entrepreneur and academician. Lawson was born on January 18, 1951, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
