Lawmakers Divided Over Proposed N40 Billion SUV Purchase As Some Advocate For Local Assembly
The plan by lawmakers in the Senate and the House of Representatives to spend N40 billion on Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) has sparked a division among lawmakers.
Reports indicate that 107 Toyota Land Cruisers (2023 model) are intended for senators, while members of the House of Representatives will opt for 2023 Toyota Prados.

This move, if implemented, could attract major car manufacturers to establish facilities in Nigeria, potentially creating employment opportunities for the country’s youth.
