The management expressed gratitude for the enthusiasm shown by partners and stakeholders but concluded that it was necessary to reschedule the event for a later date, which will be announced soon.

The statement assured the public that the conference, when held, will be more comprehensive, better organized, and strategically executed.

According to the United Nations drugs use survey of 2017, approximately 14.3 million Nigerians are involved in the use of illicit and psychotropic drugs, highlighting the urgency of addressing the issue.

The conference had secured participation commitments from influential figures, including General Buba Marwa (rtd), the Chairman of NDLEA, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, and Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), a prominent lawyer and human rights activist, among others.
