This decision comes just two days after promoter Eddie Hearn revealed plans to stage a much-anticipated match between Fury and fellow British heavyweight Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium this summer.

Joshua expressed enthusiasm about facing Fury this year, despite both fighters currently holding no official titles. It is worth noting that Joshua recently suffered a loss to Daniel Dubois, just as Fury endured back-to-back defeats against Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury’s retirement has come as a shock to many boxing fans, especially considering the excitement surrounding the potential bout with Joshua.
