Legislators Extend Annual Vacation, New Return Date Set

The House of Representatives has postponed its resumption by one week. Originally set to reconvene from their annual vacation on Tuesday, September 17, members will now return on Tuesday, September 24, at 11:00 am.

House spokesman Akintunde Rotimi announced that the rescheduling was communicated to members via an internal memo from the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, following instructions from the House Leadership. The reason behind the delay has not been disclosed.

When the House resumes, it will inaugurate the new board of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) and the Joint Senate/House Ad Hoc Committees on the Petroleum Industry Investigation on September 25.
