Earlier this week, Siasia claimed in an interview that John Shittu, Mikel Obi’s former agent, offered him a €50,000 bribe to secure Mikel’s place in the squad for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Notably, Samson Siasia has not coached any team since 2019, when FIFA banned him for allegedly accepting bribes to influence match outcomes—a ban he has now served.
