Lies Exposed! Obidient Group Denies Rumours Of Obi’s Alleged Betrayal

The Obidient Movement Worldwide has firmly denied reports suggesting a rift between former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and the party’s Acting National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the National Coordinator of the movement, Yunusa Tanko, dismissed the claims as unfounded propaganda intended to create division between Obi and Usman.

Responding to media inquiries following Obi’s attendance at the Labour Party’s campaign flag-off for its Anambra governorship candidate, Dr. George Moghalu, Tanko emphasized that Obi remains a dedicated and loyal member of the Nenadi Usman-led Labour Party.

He stated that Obi’s presence at the campaign event was both appropriate and expected, particularly after the Supreme Court validated Senator Usman’s leadership by upholding her appeal in the party’s internal crisis.

“His Excellency, Peter Obi, has repeatedly affirmed his loyalty to the Labour Party under Senator Nenadi Usman’s leadership,” Tanko noted. “He has always pledged support for all candidates who legitimately secured the party’s nomination.”

He further debunked claims of betrayal, calling them “entirely baseless and a fabricated narrative pushed by opposition forces intent on creating distraction.”

The speculation emerged after Obi participated in the party’s campaign launch for Moghalu in Anambra over the weekend. Tanko clarified that Senator Usman and other key stakeholders were fully briefed and supportive of Obi’s involvement.

“Let’s be reminded that Mr. Peter Obi is a man of integrity, renowned for his consistency,” Tanko said. “His decision to support Dr. George Moghalu is in line with that reputation.”

He added that only credible voices—such as lawmakers and party officials—have commented on the matter, a shift from the traditional political approach. Tanko urged the public to disregard the rumors, describing them as deliberate misinformation meant to stir unnecessary tension.
