Salako went on to criticize Soyinka for allegedly instigating cultism in the country, which he claims still persists and has evolved into a more severe problem. He questioned Soyinka’s relevance in contemporary Nigeria, asserting that at 89 years old, he lacks a future in the country. Additionally, Salako accused Soyinka of resorting to violence in his youth when faced with opposition.
