In response to these claims, Zakari Mijinyawa, spokesperson for the NSA’s office, addressed the issue in an interview with Premium Times. Mijinyawa categorically denied the allegations, emphasizing that Ribadu had no role in providing air transport for Ado-Bayero’s return to Kano. He cautioned against spreading misinformation, highlighting the potential negative impact on the efforts of security agencies to maintain peace in the state.

The reinstatement of Emir Sanusi by Governor Abba Yusuf, four years after his removal by the previous administration, followed the repeal of the state’s Emirate Council Law 2019. However, the Federal High Court issued a restraining order against the implementation of the new emirate council law reinstating Sanusi. The state Police Command has called for compliance with the court order and vowed to uphold peace and order amidst the crisis
