Man Hospitalized After Inserting Sim Card Extractor Tool And Electrical Cable Into Penis

A 48-year-old man from Indonesia experienced intense pain when he inserted a sim card extractor tool, electrical cable, and rubber band into his urethra, leading to difficulty urinating. Despite claiming no prior experience with such acts, medical tests revealed kidney failure and a urinary tract infection.

X-rays showed foreign objects, including a bladder stone formed around the metal tool. Surgeons removed the stone, measuring 5 x 3cm, with the sim card tool at its core, as well as a 10cm electrical cable and an 8cm needle secured with a rubber band. Though sexually active and without known psychiatric issues, he was diagnosed with an adjustment disorder.

Treatment included antipsychotics. Subsequent CT scans revealed ureter enlargement and hydronephrosis. Fortunately, he recovered fully within a week, able to urinate normally, and showed no long-term damage at his follow-up appointment.

Medical experts noted a rise in urethral issues related to sounding, a practice involving inserting objects for sexual stimulation, emphasizing the need for awareness and education in sexual health.
