According to The Sun, the group includes two second-term governors and three others serving their first terms in office.

Following the 2023 general elections, the PDP maintained control in 13 states such as Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Osun, and Oyo. Others included Bauchi, Adamawa, Taraba, Zamfara, and Plateau. However, Edo State later slipped into the hands of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after an off-cycle governorship election.
