Massive Drug Bust: NDLEA Recovers Over 2.3 Tonnes Of Narcotics, Suspects Nabbed

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted multiple consignments of Colorado, popularly known as Colos, and other illicit substances across different parts of Nigeria, recovering more than 2.3 tonnes of assorted narcotics in recent operations.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the agency disclosed on Sunday that two consignments of Colorado shipped from the United Kingdom were intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos. The illicit substances were allegedly concealed within consolidated cargo.

One of the consignments contained 27 parcels of Colorado weighing 32.20kg. Following the interception, NDLEA operatives arrested a 44-year-old real estate agent, Abideen Jide Salami, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

The agency said Salami allegedly arrived to collect a luggage containing the drugs using a code reportedly sent to him by his brother based in the United Kingdom.

In a separate operation involving another shipment from the UK, NDLEA operatives arrested 44-year-old Nurudeen Abiodun Kadiri. A total of 12.25kg of Colorado was recovered from the consignment, which the agency said was allegedly sent to him by his brother in the United Kingdom.

The NDLEA also recorded another breakthrough in Lagos after operatives intercepted consignments of Colorado allegedly concealed inside music speakers at two different motor parks.

The latest operations highlight the agency’s ongoing efforts to disrupt the trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs across the country, particularly through international shipments and transportation networks.
