In an interview with Chude, she revealed that her earlier comments came at a time when she was unaware of Obi’s achievements in office. She later realised her error after people pointed out his performance as governor.
“It was because I did not know him. After I made that comment, people called me and said, ‘Morayo, do you realise that when he was governor, he actually served us?’ That’s when I realised I had been wrong,” she said.
Speaking about her career, Afolabi-Brown disclosed that her decision to exit Your View came after the show marked its 10th anniversary. According to her, she had been contemplating moving on for some time, and the milestone gave her the courage to embrace a new path.
She also recounted how she was once dismissed from TVC but later reinstated after her identity as the daughter of the late human rights lawyer Alao Aka-Bashorun was revealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“People called Asiwaju and asked, ‘Do you know whose child was sacked?’ He said he wasn’t aware. Then they told him, ‘This is Alao Aka-Bashorun’s daughter.’ That was when he realised it was me,” she recalled.
