Meeting On Strike: Akpabio, Akume, And Organized Labour Hold Crucial DiscussionsSenate President Godswill Akpabio and Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume are currently meeting with organized labour in Abuja.

The purpose of the meeting is to reach a compromise to suspend the planned indefinite strike called by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).

Organized labour is demanding a new minimum wage of N494,000 for workers, while the Nigerian government is proposing N60,000, arguing that the amount demanded by labour is unrealistic.

The NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) had threatened to initiate a strike on Monday to advocate for their demands.
