In his post, Bamiloye reflected on the dedicated, humble, and hardworking nature of Are, who was known for his commitment to his craft and his role in spreading the gospel through film. Bamiloye recalled their final conversation, which took place as Are was being taken to the clinic. During the phone call, Are expressed that his illness should not prevent him from answering calls to movie locations, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his work.

Bamiloye took this moment to remind everyone of the unpredictability of life. He said, “When a person has laboured during the day in the office, he would go home after work to rest. Dr. Korede Are has gone home to rest after finishing his work in the office. Our Employer in this Vineyard is Jesus Christ. He alone knows our closing time at work.”

Bamiloye further emphasized the personal nature of death, noting that while each person’s closing time is different, only Jesus knows when it’s time for us to “close for the day.” He fondly remembered the times they worked together on productions, noting that Are’s passing came unexpectedly while they were still working on the Abattoir and Abejoye series.

He said, “We were working together, when the Master suddenly called him and said: KOREDE, COME OVER HERE, IT IS TIME TO COME HOME. We did not know he was rounding off his assignment in the Vineyard.”

In his tribute, Bamiloye shared that during their last phone conversation, Are had requested that Bamiloye greet his friend for him and reassured him not to be discouraged by his illness. He did not know that he had already shot his last film and was on his final film location.

Reflecting on the life and work of Korede Are, Bamiloye emphasized that his death is not a loss but a gain for heaven. “We did not lose him, NO! Heaven has gained him. He has gone to rest. He died here and woke up there eternally. Hallelujah,” he concluded.

Bamiloye’s heartfelt tribute celebrates the legacy of a man who gave his life to serving God through film and whose work will continue to inspire many.
