Jaiz Charity and Development Foundation announced the disbursement of N501 million to 10,389 beneficiaries over the past eight years.

Dr. Abdullahi Shuaib, CEO of the foundation, disclosed this during the 9th Zakat Distribution Ceremony held at the National Mosque Conference Hall in Abuja. The recent event saw N39 million disbursed to beneficiaries from the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory, with N70 million allocated to 507 beneficiaries this year alone.

Dr. Shuaib emphasized the foundation’s commitment to using Islamic social finance tools to alleviate poverty and support sustainable development goals such as poverty eradication, hunger relief, healthcare, education, sanitation, and economic growth.

He praised Nigerians’ resilience amid challenging times and reiterated Jaiz Foundation’s dedication to uplifting the less privileged.

Senator Shuaib Salisu commended the foresight of Jaiz Bank Plc’s co-founder, Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab, in establishing the foundation to administer Zakat, highlighting its significant impact on society.
