Na You No Serious: Blaqbonez Opens Up On Burna Boy’s Reaction To Joint Project Proposal

Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has revealed that Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy questioned his seriousness about a proposed collaboration when they met at a nightclub last year.

The rapper made the revelation during an interview on The Zeze Millz Show, where he expressed his interest in working with the African Giant, describing a potential joint project as an exciting musical opportunity.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Blaqbonez disclosed that Burna Boy has significantly influenced his creative energy and musical direction this year, adding that a collaboration between them could produce an outstanding result.

The rapper recalled approaching Burna Boy at a nightclub last year and asking when they would finally work together on a joint project. However, the singer reportedly responded by suggesting that Blaqbonez was not serious about making the collaboration happen.

“I would love to collaborate with Burna Boy. That would be really fire. I can imagine it; it would just be super crazy. The energy I am on this year was inspired by him in many ways,” Blaqbonez said.

He added that when he met Burna Boy at the nightclub and asked about their proposed joint project, the singer replied, “Na you no serious na.”

Meanwhile, Blaqbonez has encountered a similar setback in his attempt to collaborate with singer Young Jonn, who reportedly turned down his offer after revisiting an old social media post in which the rapper selected music producer DJ Coublon ahead of him.

The exchange began after Young Jonn, who transitioned from music production to singing, shared a post expressing his desire to have five close friends with whom he could move around as a group.

“I need like five bad friends way we go dey move in bulk!” Young Jonn wrote.

Responding to the post, Blaqbonez indicated his willingness to join the group, suggesting that they could work together musically.

“Oya, make we dey together, sing as one,” the rapper replied.

However, Young Jonn reportedly rejected the collaboration proposal after discovering the old post in which Blaqbonez had favoured DJ Coublon over him.

The developments have drawn attention to Blaqbonez’s attempts to secure collaborations with prominent Nigerian music stars, despite the unexpected responses he has received from both Burna Boy and Young Jonn.
