Edward Buba, the Director of Defense Media Operations, shared this information in Abuja during a briefing on recent military operations throughout the country.

He also presented visuals of the Nigerian Air Force’s air interdiction missions, emphasizing that these operations have significantly reduced the number of insurgents in various regions.

Furthermore, Maj. Gen. Buba highlighted a specific operation targeting the residence of an ISWAP terrorist leader in Niger, which resulted in multiple arrests and the discovery of important information.

Over the past week, troops in different areas neutralized 73 terrorists and apprehended 182 others. Additionally, 14 individuals suspected of engaging in oil theft were arrested, 68 hostages were rescued in the South-South region, and an estimated N1.212 billion in illegal oil business was prevented.

The military also recovered a substantial number of weapons, including firearms, ammunition, and various other items, from the insurgents.

In the North East, Operation Hadin Kai forces eliminated 39 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, apprehended 22 individuals, and rescued 18 hostages while seizing a significant cache of arms.

In the North Central region, operations by troops from Operations Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke led to the neutralization of 12 terrorists, the arrest of 109 individuals, the rescue of 22 kidnapped hostages, and the recovery of multiple arms and ammunition.
