Following an investigative report implicating Nestle, NAFDAC maintains that the Nido follow-up milk formula mentioned isn’t registered or circulating in Nigeria. In a press release titled “Nestle Adds Sugar to Infant Milk Sold in Poorer Countries: NAFDAC’s Response,” Prof Christianah Adeyeye, Director-General of NAFDAC, clarified that Nestle’s Cerelac infant cereals in Nigeria adhere to relevant standards and regulations.

NAFDAC emphasizes its diligence in registering infant foods, aligning with international and national standards. Adeyeye assures Nigerians of NAFDAC’s commitment to ensuring the safety and quality of infant foods. She highlights recent engagements with stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of infant and young child nutrition.
