Initially, the deadline was set for January 31, but the extension was granted following appeals from prospective pilgrims who were unable to complete their registration on time.

In a statement released on Tuesday, NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Fatima Sanda Usara, explained that the decision was announced during a Zoom meeting on February 4, 2025, with key stakeholders in the Hajj process.

NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, urged State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards to work closely with the commission to ensure timely fund transfers, crucial for securing accommodations that have already been inspected and reserved.

He emphasized that Saudi Arabia has set February 14, 2025, as the final date for contract signings, meaning all payments must be deposited into the designated IBAN account before then to be recognized on the e-track (Nusuk Masar) registration portal. Given the processing time for international transfers, he stressed the need for early remittance.

Additionally, NAHCON’s Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, advised financially capable pilgrims to begin payments for the Hajj fare—excluding the $500 Basic Travel Allowance (BTA)—while making separate arrangements for the travel allowance. He highlighted that some pilgrims were short by ₦200,000, preventing them from completing their payments despite meeting the required Hajj fare.

Supporting this appeal, Nasarawa’s Executive Secretary and Chairman of the Forum of States, Malam Idris Almakura, encouraged his colleagues to transfer available funds immediately rather than waiting until the deadline. He underscored the urgency of completing payments before the scheduled in-person meeting on Tuesday.
