Adams Oshiomhole, the former Governor of Edo State, graced the event as the distinguished keynote speaker, officially inaugurating the delegates conference.
At the commencement of his address, Comrade Senator Oshiomhole acknowledged that his words might stir controversy among the conference attendees. He clarified his intention—to not only speak truth to power but also to the worker unions themselves, emphasizing his allegiance to this primary constituency.
He advocated for trade unions such as NASU, SANU, and others to recognize the essential necessity for workers to unite in order to confront the challenges encountered by these unions in their dealings with employers.
It stood as a forceful declaration, encouraging the unions to take a more proactive stance in confronting their oppressors. He exemplified this by reflecting on his successful tenure as the NLC president, where unwavering defense of the people characterized every step taken.
