National Assembly Moves In: Rivers State Sole Administrator Summoned Over Controversies!

The House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on the situation in Rivers State has summoned the state’s Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retired), to appear for an interactive session scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2025.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to reports, the spokesperson for the House, Akin Rotimi (Jnr), made this announcement on Wednesday following the committee’s inaugural meeting earlier in the day. The committee was officially inaugurated by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Rotimi noted that the session aims to review developments and preliminary reports from Rivers State since Vice Admiral Ibas assumed the role of Sole Administrator.
He further clarified that the committee is acting in line with its constitutional responsibility as outlined in Section 11(4) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which mandates full legislative oversight.
The statement read: “In accordance with its constitutional duty to carry out thorough legislative oversight as stipulated in Section 11(4) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the committee has resolved, among other things, to invite Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd.), Sole Administrator of Rivers State, for a detailed interactive session.”
Rotimi stressed that the session is crucial to gaining a clearer understanding of the situation in Rivers State and ensuring that the House upholds its commitment to public accountability.
The meeting is scheduled to hold at 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in Room 414 of the House of Representatives New Building at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
