This initiative formed part of the 2025 National Police Day celebrations, featuring a three-day community outreach program. CP Adewale highlighted that the exercise aimed to showcase the police as integral members of the community, emphasizing that a clean and orderly environment contributes to crime prevention.

He stated, “The police have always played a role in environmental sanitation. Whenever there’s a call for a clean-up, we ensure compliance. Today’s activity reinforces our commitment to community involvement because cleanliness is next to godliness.”

He added that maintaining a tidy environment discourages criminal activities. The CP also noted that similar clean-up exercises were being coordinated by area commanders in other divisions, including Abaji and Gwagwalada, as part of the initiative.

Since the community hosts the command headquarters, Adewale emphasized the importance of leading by example.

In a related development, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has promised to take appropriate action after a police officer in Kaduna State, Hadaina Hussaini Dan-Taki, made a provocative statement online.

Dan-Taki had threatened retaliatory attacks against Southerners in the North in response to the recent lynching of 16 Northern travelers in Uromi, Edo State. In a Facebook comment, Dan-Taki vowed that Northerners would retaliate within a week, prompting public outrage.

Following backlash, Dan-Taki changed his first name and limited access to his Facebook page. However, a social media user with the handle @UcheDIgboezeson shared a screenshot of the comment, tagging Adejobi and urging him to address the issue.

In response, Adejobi acknowledged the report, stating, “Noted for necessary action. Thanks.”
