Two pilots from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) successfully emerged unharmed after a recent air incident during their return from a routine training flight. The event unfolded on March 7, around 3.5 nautical miles from Kaduna Military Airfield. Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, reported that the mishap involved a Super Mushshak trainer aircraft at approximately 2:35 pm.

In an official statement, Gabkwet stated, “A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Super Mushshak trainer aircraft was involved in a minor mishap earlier today, 7 March 2024, at about 2:35 pm. The accident, which occurred at about 3.5 nautical miles from Kaduna Military airfield, involved 2 pilots who were returning from a routine training flight. Luckily, both pilots came out of the crash unscathed.”

Following the incident, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff, promptly ordered a preliminary investigation to determine the immediate cause of the crash. The quick response underscores the commitment to safety and thorough examination within the Nigerian Air Force.
