The distressing event occurred on Monday, coinciding with his peers’ preparations for their first-semester examinations. It was revealed that Adegoke obtained his friend’s password and deceitfully used his friend’s fees for online betting as well, resulting in further losses.

The school administration had previously cautioned students that they would not be allowed to sit for exams unless they completed their registration process. After the incident, Adegoke was promptly taken to the school clinic for immediate medical attention. However, due to the severity of the situation, he was subsequently transferred to a specialized hospital in Ilaro. Tragically, he was pronounced dead shortly after his admission.

Sola Abiala, the Deputy Registrar in charge of Public Relations at the institution, confirmed the incident. Abiala mentioned that the school took immediate action by referring Adegoke to a specialist hospital in an attempt to save his life. Regrettably, he passed away just as the exams were about to commence. It was determined at the specialist hospital that Adegoke had consumed a chemical substance.

Efforts to obtain a response from the police regarding the incident were unsuccessful, as their calls went unanswered.
