Meanwhile, the NSIB has launched a full investigation into the incident, which occurred around 11:09 a.m. at KM 49 between Kubwa and Asham stations. In a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Family Assistance, Mrs. Bimbo Olawumi Oladeji, the Bureau disclosed that a “go-team” of investigators had been deployed to the site to gather evidence and liaise with stakeholders.
NSIB Director-General, Captain Alex Badeh Jr., assured Nigerians of a transparent investigation, noting that the findings would help prevent future accidents. He expressed sympathy for the injured passengers and reaffirmed the Bureau’s commitment to enhancing the safety of rail transport in the country.
