BREAKING: NLC To Begin Nationwide Strike August 2

 

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared plans for a nationwide strike starting on August 2, 2023. They issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government, demanding a reversal of perceived anti-poor policies, including the recent hike in petrol pump prices, to avert the planned industrial action.

Meanwhile, medical doctors under the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) have already embarked on an indefinite nationwide strike.

The strike began following the expiration of a two-week ultimatum given to the government for the implementation of their demands, which were slow to be addressed.

NARD’s significant demands include the immediate payment of the 2023 Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF), one-for-one replacement circular release, payment of arrears, upward review of CONMESS, and other crucial issues relating to the welfare of medical professionals.
