Speaking at the 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, Governor Mohammed praised the party’s resilience in the face of adversity, describing the PDP as a party with deep roots, capable leadership, and enduring strength.
“This is the miracle of the PDP,” he said. “A party with history, pedigree, and human capital to lead Nigeria. We’ve weathered crises not of our making, yet we’ve emerged stronger—unlike other parties.”
He commended the National Working Committee (NWC) for proactively resolving internal disputes, stating, “The NWC has put an end to press wars and internal wrangling. What you’ve seen in the past has stopped—and it won’t return.”
According to him, all party organs—from the Board of Trustees to National Assembly caucuses and state chapters—are now aligned and working harmoniously to uphold party cohesion and grassroots strength.
Mohammed dismissed media reports about internal discord or defections as baseless distractions, saying, “Claims of mass exits are exaggerated. These stories were designed to weaken us, but they have failed.”
Addressing speculation about new political movements and coalitions, he was blunt: “There is no need for a coalition or parallel meetings. The PDP stands firm, united, and solidly behind the NWC and our governors.”
He concluded with a message of reassurance to Nigerians: “We remain committed to good governance, credible leadership, and delivering on our responsibilities. We will not disappoint our supporters or the nation.”
