Kano State Police Command has apprehended Sadam Mu’azu, a notorious drug dealer famously known as “Badoo,” along with eight members of his criminal network. Badoo was implicated in the distribution of illegal drugs, including cannabis, to both young people and housewives within the state. The police confiscated various items from the suspects, including eleven parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, cash, a cutlass, and five motorcycles allegedly used for the sale and distribution of drugs.
The statement further elaborated on the arrest, citing the diligent surveillance efforts and community collaboration spearheaded by Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc. Specialized detective teams, under the leadership of SP Hussaini Gimba from the Anti Daba Unit, in collaboration with CSP Bilyaminu Bello of the Sharada Division, played crucial roles in the successful operation that led to Badoo’s apprehension and that of his associates.
The arrest, which took place on April 22, 2024, also resulted in the confession of all suspects regarding their involvement in drug trafficking, including the distribution of Indian Hemp. Upon completion of the investigation, all suspects will face legal charges.
The Commissioner of Police expressed gratitude for the effective community partnership that facilitated the arrest and subsequent investigation. Additionally, commendation was extended to the personnel of Kurmawa Correctional Centre for their role in ensuring the safety of inmates.
