Under this category, customers are expected to pay N225 per kilowatt-hour, a considerable jump from the previous N66 rate. Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, defended the tariff hike, claiming that Nigerians in Band A would save on diesel and petrol expenses for generators. This is excluding how much I spend on my businesses. If the electricity was good, I wouldn’t spend that much on fueling my generator.”
