Okpebholo Makes History, Presents Staff of Office To Three Revered Royal Fathers

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has officially presented the Staff of Office to His Royal Majesty, Michael Eshioronoya Olorunfemi Sado, the newly recognized Okuokpellagbe of Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Area.

In a related development, the Edo State Executive Council has revoked the appointment of Zaiki Ehi-Douglas Lucky Ehidiamen as the Onojie of Okhuesan in Esan South East LGA. A statement from the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor, explained that Ehidiamen was originally appointed as a Regent due to the young age of the rightful heir at the time.

Following the expiration of Ehidiamen’s regency, which lasted 18 years, the state government has now formally handed over the Staff of Office and appointment letter to HRH Lucky Ehichioya Imhadojiemu, who has reached the appropriate age to ascend the throne as the Onojie of Okhuesan, effective April 30, 2025.

Additionally, the government also presented the Staff of Office and appointment letter to HRH Ehinomen Aigbojie, confirming him as the new Onojie of Onogholo, also in Esan South East LGA.

The government extended congratulations to the newly enthroned monarchs and urged them to lead with integrity and dedication to foster peace and development within their communities.
