In a statement on Monday, John Akinduro, Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, dismissed an online report alleging Adelami was locked out of his official residence over a disagreement with the governor.
“For the benefit of well-meaning residents and friends of Ondo State, Dr. Adelami and his boss enjoy a deep bond and mutual respect,” Akinduro said. “The falsehood being peddled is simply the work of mischief-makers seeking to stir public distrust for selfish reasons. Dr. Adelami’s loyalty to his principal remains unwavering.”
He clarified that the deputy governor was never barred from his lodge, nor forced to stay in any “ramshackle hotel,” as claimed. Instead, Governor Aiyedatiwa had ordered a renovation of the official residence upon assuming office — a project now completed.
Akinduro added that Adelami has repeatedly commended the governor’s leadership both in public and private, describing Aiyedatiwa as a democratic leader with a warm and approachable personality.
The statement urged those behind the “divisive propaganda” to stop and focus on supporting the administration’s vision for a better Ondo State.
