The news broke on the microblogging platform, Twitter, and sparked reactions amongst many as concerned Nigerians began to send in their condolence write-ups to the family.

Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission,  Abike Dabiri Erewa via her Twitter handle debunked the misleading information shared by some tweeps.

She claimed that she and her husband, Dele Olusegun contacted him to confirm the trending story. She added that he is alive and healthy.
