Osun CP Reports Stability In Condition Of Alleged Rape Victim Involving Pastor

Previously reported by Vanguard, the incident occurred when Pastor Kayode purportedly raped Yemisi under the pretext of protecting her from spiritual attacks at his church, situated within his residence in the Ijebu-Ojeda area of Oriade local government in the state on January 4, 2024.
Addressing the media in his Osogbo office, Commissioner of Police Kwazhi disclosed that he has instructed the Deputy Commissioner for Police in charge of crime investigation to expedite the inquiry. The goal is to promptly arraign the suspect in court.
The Commissioner emphasized the police force’s commitment to addressing criminal matters without compromise. Despite challenges posed by the ongoing strike by the Osun chapter of Judiciary workers affecting the arraignment process, he assured that collaboration with the Attorney-General is underway to address legal complexities.
Kwazhi stated, “I was informed of a rape by a pastor, and I instructed the personnel to take immediate action and apprehend the suspect. The case is currently under investigation by the Deputy Commissioner of Police CID, to whom I have given directives to swiftly prepare the case file. Very soon, the parties involved will be brought before me for an interview, and the matter will be presented in court.”
He concluded by confirming the stability of the victim’s condition and assured that the police are focused on concluding the investigation to bring the matter before the court.
